Thank you, Community Helpers!

Over the last few weeks, we have had many special Community Helpers visit our class and tell us about the importance of their job in our community.

Mrs. Roll’s mom, Mrs. Trumpy, came and shared her Auto Club map expertise. She is a human map!

Patrick’s mom, Mrs. Murasky, shared about how her company makes and packages vitamins. She shared a fun story with us about how different vitamins help keep up healthy!

It’s hard to see, but Mrs. Murasky showed us a neat video of how all the vitamins make their way into the containers. Boy, those machines FAST!

We are lucky enough to have THREE firefighter dads who came to talk to us about fire safety and what to do in an emergency.
Julia’s dad, Firefighter Pattison, showing us the hazmat suit and his regular fire jacket.

Siena’s dad, Firefighter Eaggleston, showed us ALL the gear they wear!

...even the gas mask and tank they wear when going into a burning building!

Wow! So cool!

STOP
 DROP and
... ROLL!

Eddie’s dad, who is a CHP officer, had his friend come and talk to us about being a California Highway Patrol officer!

Officer Leland sharing about safety and about his uniform.

Then we got to see the police car!

Cody’s mom, Dr. Gradis shared with us about all of her extensive schooling and experience teaching communications courses at the University level!

Julia’s mom, Ms. Caroline, shared pictures of her 3rd grade classroom in LAUSD. It was so fun to have another teacher share about being a community helper. I even made her read a Dr. Seuss book to the kids ;)

Camryn’s dad, Mike Sheehan of Mike Sheehan plumbing (insert business card here!), shared about how important plumbers are in our community. He brought some really cool tools and pictures of pipes he’s fixed and pesty roots he’s gotten out of pipes!

Thank you to ALL of our community helpers who help keep our community such a great place!
