Community Helper Visit- Ventura County Sheriff

Today we had a very special visitor--- Deputy Smith (Sophie's dad) from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. If you were on campus today, you probably didn't miss the 42 foot Sheriff's Department truck in the parking lot!! Deputy Sheriff shared how he helps keep our community safe from bad guys and bad things that could hurt us by showing us his command center truck, the remote controlled robot, the protective suit, and the container that takes away the "bad" items. The kids were AMAZED!!!

You have probably heard all about what we saw today, but here are some pictures and videos from our Commuity Helper visit!

Deputy Smith talking to all of the Kindergarteners.
The 500 pound robot that can pick up bad things, open doors, knock down doors, and has a super neat squirt gun on it!
A super heavy suit that keeps Deputy Smith safe!
The kids got to touch his helmet!

The robot circled around the front of the office! Deputy Smith was controlling it from inside the big truck!!! He even talked through the robot! Sooooo cool!
The kids got to go in the truck and see the robot camera!
(The first video was a little too long- this is the second half of the kids inside the truck!)
And, of course, a silly one!

Thank you, Deputy Smith!!!! Today was GREAT!
