The Kindergarteners came in to find the two butterflies. We’ve decided that their wings are not strong enough to go to the farm. We know that it takes a couple hours for their wings to dry. Once they are dry, they flap their wings to get blood flowing in them.
Here are our observations from Day 19:
- There are still 3 in chrysalis (Kate)
- 2 of them are butterflies (Layla)
- The butterflies have black and white spots (Nikos)
- They look like they have Army colors, like camouflage (Landon)
- The background of the spots is grey (Peyton)
- 2 of the chrysalises are yellow (Sophie)
- Those are the cracked ones! (Landon)
- The caterpillars still in chrysalis are the same color as the butterflies (Anthony)
- One of the butterflies is hanging on to a chrysalis right now (Jake)
- We have not seen the butterflies move yet (Mrs. Roll)
Update! Count the butterflies:
